🎀 Eastside Elementary Breast Cancer Walk – Parent Reminder 🎀
Parents, we are excited to have you join us for our Breast Cancer Walk on Friday, October 9!
Students will come outside at their scheduled walk time, so parents do not need to enter the school building. Please remain outside and wait for your child’s grade level to come out. Once your child comes outside, you are welcome to join them for the walk.
After the walk, students will return inside with their teachers, and parents may leave at that time.
⏰ Walk Times:
• 9:00–9:30 AM: 4th, 5th & 6th Grade
• 9:35–10:05 AM: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Grade
• 11:00–11:30 AM: Pre-K & Kindergarten

Huge shoutout to 5th and 2nd grade for meeting our August attendance goal, and to 5th grade and Pre-K for meeting the goal in September! Special congrats to 5th grade for hitting the goal two months in a row! Grades that meet our monthly attendance goal get to celebrate at our attenDANCE party—check out these fun pictures of students dancing and celebrating their success! We had a blast!

The first graders in Ms. Browning’s class are studying nouns! Today they applied their knowledge of nouns through this cool partner activity. Way to go Ms. Browning!
Thank you to all the parents that came to the Parent Pop-in. Ms. Jennings, our reading specialist, ask that we share the a video that she shared during the event to inform parents on the Alabama Literacy Act. The Alabama Literacy Act requires schools to identify and support struggling kindergarten through third grade readers through evidence-based instruction and interventions, with the goal of ensuring students can read at or above grade level by the end of third grade.

Good morning, school family! Help us ensure a smooth, safe, and productive start to the school day for our students and staff by reviewing our morning arrival guidelines below:
Standard Drop-Off (Before 7:45 AM)
Car Rider Line: Please stay in the designated car line and drop students off at the front door or sidewalk.
Classroom Walk-Ins: To build student independence and give teachers dedicated time to prepare for instruction, parents may not walk students to their classrooms.
Late Arrivals (After 7:45 AM Tardy Bell)
If you arrive after the 7:45 AM tardy bell rings, do not drop your child off in the car line.
Parents/guardians must park and walk the student into the main office to officially sign them in.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe and helping us maximize learning time each morning

Parents, please review the information to see how you can participate. Your student will earn a participation prize when they return the completed Student Lanyard to school, and they can earn even more prizes when family and friends help our school raise funds. Don’t forget to send the filled-out Book Buddy Lanyard back to school, and thank you for your support!
